During my stay at The Doctor's House, I was impressed by the stunning room and the beautiful outdoor tub. The staff were clearly proud and happy to be a part of the creative and fun team, which added to the positive atmosphere. The mattress was amazing, providing a comfortable night's sleep. I also appreciated the variety of lighting options in the room, as well as the lovely little outside seating area that each room had.

Good location, unique open air bathroom concept. Expensive restaurant and merchandise shop. Overall good value. Authentic Sri Lankan food nearby. Creative design, amazing atmosphere, great staff. Would recommend. Cleverly renovated interiors, attention to detail. Fun touches and whimsical mosquito nets. Great menu, though pricier for budget travelers. Close to the beach and various dining options. Friendly staff, enjoyable coffee. Gym available for workouts.

The highlight of dining at this hotel was the live band performing every Saturday night. The music was so catchy, it felt like they had cast a magical spell that made everyone get up and dance the night away.
No laundry facilities.

I spent a month in Sri Lanka and The Doctor's House had the best staff. They were always smiling and asking if I needed anything. The seafood they make is really tasty and the coffee is delicious. The hostel is located in front of the beach, so you can enjoy the beer and great food while watching the beautiful sunset. They also have live music every Saturday and there is a barber inside the hostel, which was a cool experience. The outside bathroom is very cool and the rooms are nice and clean. The hostel has a gym in the back area with everything you need to do some exercises. Nice place to hang out with friendly staff and good coffee.
I recommend this hotel.

The hostel rooms lack privacy and can be noisy, with connected rooms and loud guests.

From the moment we stepped foot in there, it was non-stop party vibes. They had a live band rocking the house every Saturday night, and let me tell you, those guys could seriously shred the guitar! We were dancing like crazy and singing along to all our favorite tunes. And let's not forget about the DJ they had every Wednesday night. The beats were so sick, we couldn't stop grooving on the dance floor! It was like being at a mini music festival right inside the hotel. Such an unforgettable experience!
If there's one thing we wished for during our stay, it would be more late-night party options for us young party animals. The live band and DJ nights were absolutely amazing, but we wanted even more opportunities to dance the night away.

The bungalows at this place were absolutely mind-blowing, with their creative and stylish decor creating a cozy and nostalgic colonial atmosphere. The ceiling fan and AC kept us super cool, and the location was amazing with a beautiful beach right in front. The all-day bar made some seriously great coffee, pizzas, and smoothies, and we even got to experience a fantastic Saturday market and party - it was jaw-dropping! The building was creatively renovated, with fun touches like a 'colander shower' and floaty mosquito nets. The menu was great, although a bit on the pricey side. The location was perfect, with lots of local and fusion eateries nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the little boutique had a well-edited selection of fashion and accessories. The dorm rooms were also nice, and the concept of the open-air bathroom was super cool. Good value for money overall, with authentic Sri Lankan food just a short walk away.

The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was more variety in the options available.

The ineffective mosquito net over the bed. the fan blew it open, allowing mosquitos and bugs to enter the room.
